Spider rear end problems

Hi all , 

I need some advice . My 86 Spider Grad. is making some noise in the rear
end . It's a clunk upon accell, and decel , and after inspecting there is
a fair amount of play when turning the driveshaft ( maybe 10 degrees).
Obviously it need to be repaired . My questions are ,  Where is a good
shop to take it ,to have at repaired ?  Will this problem get continually
worse, or are they known for just blowing up suddenly.
