Power Steering Rack

My rack has play and a leak.

The leak is very small, so not a great concern, but there is
almost 0.8 of an inch free play at the wheel. I have
jacked the car up and there appears to be no play in either the
outer or inner track rod end balljoints.
Also, there appears to be no excessive play in the U-joints
of the primary and secondary steering wheel shafts.

The bottom line is, how can I take up the play inside the
rack? The car drives ok, but if I go over rough ground I
get lots of clonking noises and sensations through the
steering wheel.

I have had a new pump, which is fine, and the assistance
is fine also.
