manual gearbox rebuild

i am about to remove the manual gearbox (with j-od) from my 73 stag for a
rebuild. i am proficient at tr6 gearbox rebuilds and have loads of spares.
looking at the parts books it seems as if the tr6 and stag boxes are almost
identical except for the input shaft and the thrust washers on the laygear.
tr6 uses simply a thrust washer at each end of the laygear. stag uses numerous
washers/radial bearings/thrust washers. i tried to order the relevant stag
bits from rimmer, but most of the laygear thrust washer bits are nls. i hope
to find i can use tr6 thrust washers. has anyone else had experience with
this? jeff ware.
