re TR7 exhaust valves
Hi Huw
The 'VL' marking on the valves is a code for the name of the manufacturer.
These are fine for unleaded.
Never reverse the pistons on any car after running, and in the Stag there
is a slight offset to the crankpin anyway (de Saxe for officionado's). So
in your case you need the pistons the right wya round, so all you can do is
a light hone of the affected cylinders before fitting the pistons the right
way round.
Sorry can't help with a machine shop name, we do not put these in the
Listed Suppliers Directory as there is usually at least one in each major
town and reputations change! I suggest;
first you phone your local Rover dealers service department and ask them to
recommend,
or you look in 'Yellow Pages' for 'engine reconditioning'
or ask you local Stag specialist to make a recommendation.
