I finally found a replacement for the US spec remote adjustable door
mirror. It is ALMOST the same as the late model Series III Jaguar 12 Cyl
E-Type mirror. The only difference is that the end (the remote part) is
not threaded. So you can either change ends from the old mirror, or
thread the new one. In my case we changed the ends from the original
mirror to the new one, but it was very delicate and I could see someone
breaking the end very easily this way. I bought the mirror from a Jaguar
parts supplier. Cost was about the same as having the old one re-chromed,
except I could not figure out how to remove the guts of the mirror
without breaking it.
