Silicone Brake Fluid

Brian

The problem is that Glycol/ester based fluids will suck any moisture out of
the atmosphere idf exposed, on a continuous basis. Assuming there is ANY
humidity in the air, the fluid will grab it. This is why part-used tins of
brake fluid should never be stored for long periods and then used again,
also why you must keep all containers tightly lidded all the time.

The effect of moisture is two-fold.

Formation of steam and complete loss of pedal
premature corrosion of cylinders

One big dis-advantage of Glycol/esters is their wonderful unfriendliness to
paint.
