E46 318i-2.0 Valvetronic

I'm considering purchasing the new E46 318i-2.0 Valvetronic and was
wondering if anyone has any feedback
about this new engine?. Perhaps any known problems, lack of power, unrefine,
etc, etc. I know in the US market
this model is not sold, entry level is usually the 325i so its more towards
the other regions that have this model
(eg Australia, Asia, etc).

Any comments at all on this model and this new Valvetronic engine is
appreciated. Yeah I know best to go for the
infamous 6 cylinder engines but due to cost constraint I may have to settle
for the 4 pot for now. Tks.
