Re: Rotten Dealer Warranty Service

My personal experiences bear out what I've read here with regard to dealer serivce. I had to continue to take my car into the same dealer because of the extended warranty and every time I took it in, I had to bring it back because the work wasn't done properly. Missing parts on the engine cover, repaired oil leaks that still leaked, blown fuses that continued to blow, four trips for a front end noise that they never did locate. bad radio reception that "worked the same in other cars," and on and on. The height of the problems came when I had to have my Nikasil block replaced and they charged me almost twice the "flat rate hours." This was allegedly because they had to R&R the head twice, first for the
extended warranty inspection and later for the actual shortblock replacement. They certainly don't have to do it twice. All they have to do is put in a couple of bolts to allow engine removal then pull them back out. About 20 minutes according to the experts.

Well, enough ranting. I've had enough. I've had BMWs for almost 20 years but I'm tired of the s***ty service. I'm going to buy some American pig iron and live with it. BMW NA beware. BMW has great automobiles, but your dealer network is destroying your reputation.
