E30 Water Leak

Hi everyone

I have an 88 E30 325 is that has some strange water leakage into the
passenger area.  First off,  I have cleaned the little duck bill thing on
the firewall this summer and I think I ran a snake down the a pillars for
this cars sunroof drain.  I think it is coming in from the front vent system
somehow.   Is there a seam that needs to be sealed in there?

We had a soaking rain a couple of nights ago and the drivers side had about
1/2 inch of water.  Looks like it came in near the brake pedal area from
looking at the floor mat.  It was pretty uncomfortable driving to work while
soaking water up with a rag and ringing it out the window.

The car was parked slightly down hill and leaning a little to the left so it
is possible that some level of water was in the vent area before getting
high enough to get to the duckbill drain thing.


Any ideas?
