[alfa] RE: 164LS Exhaust Headers

I'd like to be able to tell you that Stebro has headers for the 164. Hell,
I DID actually do that in print in the Alfa Owner about five years ago!!!
Well, in my defense, I said they were "in development" rather than "in
stock". :)

I've pretty much given up on seeing 164 headers from Stebro. I know they
were working earnestly on developing them at one point, but I just don't
know what happened and I tired of asking. FWIW, I've had good luck with
their exhaust components; both the product and it's delivery. It's only the
"future products in development" that they seem to be overly optimistic on
in my experience.

Relative to your specific questions... The LS, being a 24-valve motor, uses
a different exhaust manifold than the earlier 12-valve motors. The exhaust
manifold on the 24V motor is actually much more "header-like" than the
comparable part used on the 12V motors, so I'd be inclined to suggest there
really isn't much need for a true header for the 24V motor. But I don't
profess to have a scientific data in that regard - it's just my SWAG.
