[alfa] off-topic suspension question

I saw a magazine ad for a new Ford truck touting the fact that the 
shock absorbers were mounted outboard of the springs.  I was 
wondering what the big deal (if any) was.  All I can figure is that 
it gives the dampers more leverage to resist roll.
