Alfa Romeo Consumer's Digest?

Alfisti,

(with apologies to Richard if I am over-stepping my bounds here)

Over the few years that I have been receiving this digest, the Alfa Racing
Digest, Osso-Talk, AlfaBB, etc., I have often read comments, both negative
and positive concerning parts suppliers, service providers (such as
mechanics, body shops, engine rebuilders, etc.). Unfortunately, I have also
seen many 'flame wars' which have started as a result of unsatisfied
customers' desires to either resolve their issues or at least let everyone
else know about a bad experience. I don't believe that the Alfa Digest is
the wrong place to check and see if anyone else might be able to shed some
light on a customer service issue, but the fallout from these discussions
can be very negative.

There are lots of great consumer's websites and 'digests' out there, related
to any number of customer concerns. Maybe we need an 'Alfa Romeo Consumer
Digest' to assist Alfisti with consumer issues. That way, when consumer
issues come up (as they often do here), the 'poster' could be directed to a
more appropriate forum. This could be set-up to be as simple as a Digest
for customer concerns, or even on a web-site with a rating system (like the
one on E-Bay) that would 'tally-up' the number of positive and negative
customer comments about various service and parts suppliers. In the spirit
of competition, I would think that if this site, digest or whatever became
popular...then it would be a competitive edge to have the rating proudly
displayed on a provider's website or catalog.

I am not in the business, so I am not in a position to do this. But perhaps
either AROC's Directors could consider putting together a rating system, or
maybe it could be incorporated into alfacentro.com (as just two of several
possibilities).

Your thoughts would be appreciated...(off-digest or on)

Cheers,
