I have had good success with industrial 2" Velcro from Home Depot for 
attaching my often used Euro plates when Sofia is sitting in the driveway..
Clean the surfaces with thinner or other good contaminant remover and you 
damn near need to pry the plates off. More than you'll need for many cars 
for about $8.

Yes, it's strong enough to firmly mount a plate in the wind, and no holes 
to drill.
