4-cylinder engine stand pictures
Several weeks ago the recurring thread on engine stands came up, and Biba
suggested that "Possibly Russ might be willing to send photos of his twin
system."
I don't know if Neely ever sent pictures, but I finally got around to
taking a few pictures of the stand I built using the 1000 lb. Harbor
Freight stand.
This involved welding a second upright opposite the original, then
fabricating exhaust and intake side "motor mounts" made of metal plate and
pipe which fit in the tubes atop the uprights and bolt up to the block. The
exhaust side motor mount has a ~1 inch offset so that the engine can rotate
longitudinally on a common axis (the block's exhaust and intake side motor
mount attaching points differ by that amount).
If any digesters are interested, send me a request and I'll forward the
pictures to you.
