I've done two or three with a 'come-along' -- a portable winch with
hooks both ends, first seen tightening guy wires on radio towers. Don't
remember where I got it in 19-ought-85, probably someplace as esoteric
as Canadian Tire
Better than a block and tackle, imho, because of the winch, but probably
needs a bit more headroom
