Help! Weber Carb Issue

Hi there,
I'm working on a 2 Liter with two Weber 40 DCOE 18's, and one barrel is
missing both the choke and aux. venturi. In order to correctly identify the
sizes for replacement, I was told to remove another barrel's choke+venturi and
check their sizes.

Try as I might, the $)(@#*)$ aux. won't come out of the barrel. I've looked
for a fastening nut but can't find one. Short of ripping the whole carb out
(which I don't want to do), how can I best extract the choke and venturi?
