My Alfa Digest Pet Peeve

I too have been guilty of this one a time or two, but you probably did not notice. I try hard to not repeat mistakes.

The recent virus hoax is a prime example:

There is a question you can answer; you are a few hours behind the current; you whip out an answer; you scroll down and there is the same answer you just sent, but this one was posted ten hours ago by someone else; you continue to play catch up and there is essentially the same answer you sent 5 or 6 times before yours is posted.

What really gets me are the few subscribers who are gone for a some weeks. Upon return they start posting answers to questions answered in full and archived weeks ago.

To avoid this I suggest cutting/pasting posts you can answer. Save them as a draft. When you are caught up if the answer has not appeared, complete the appropriate draft and post it! Delete the rest.

Those getting the individual message format many times answer questions in the same "digest" as the question appears. If you want to be the first to post the answer it helps to get the individual format and be at the computer all the time. ;-)

I guess it is time for me to crawl back under the Alfa.
