'90 Spider Speedometer not funtioning HELP!

Hey Alfisti,

I just noticed that the speedometer in my '90 Spider is not funtioning
and I am trying to sell the car.  I have checked the cable and it can
be seen turning from both ends.

I have heard that the speedometer unit itself sometimes goes bad, is
this true?

Any ideas or advice?
