Re: 105 alfa radio

If you are not too hung up on orthodox original, and just want good sound out of a two shaft radio with the same face plate size of the original, get a Kenwood KRC 2007 (or 3007 - supports CD). I get mine from Crutchfield (crutchfield.com). It is a digital tuner with cassette, 2x25 watts with 4 speaker output, balance and fader, and bass and treble adjustments, that cost about 100 bucks. I've got 3 in various 105/115 alfas. They work well, match the black dash, and last longer than Pioneer or Clarion equivalents. Finally the tuner has the european (?) band width so that it can get the low TV channel on FM. In my neck of the woods, that is channel 6.

Can't give you any specifics, but I do know that there are a number of
companies which make "reproduction" radios for restorations. These 'look'
like period pieces but are, in actuality, modern high-power solid-state
designs which have CD or cassette as well as amplification for today's
modern speakers. A proper period radio for your 105 GTV would be something
like a Becker "Mexico." Its German, but it was pretty standard fare for
Jags, Alfas, Maseratis, and Ferraris of the era. I have seen a replica
"Mexico" but don't remember where or who made it. Try Yahoo.
