What about tunnels? Try driving round Brussels and you will find loads
of them. These are not the glorified bridges the UK manages to stretch
to in Birmingham, but full, long tunnels. Yes it still gets busy, but I
would drive through the middle of Brussels on a Friday afternoon (and
have done so), but would not even think about going anywhere near
the middle of Brum, let alone London, at that time
