Fixing Dash to Install Old-Type Radio

After a1986 attempt to steal my radio, which destroyed the middle
console and the dash portion where the radio goes, I installed the more
modern radio without control knobs. I wish I hadn't because it looks not
so good and crowds the headlight indicator lights.

Is there a good fix to this part of the dash so I can install the old
type style of radio with a volume and turner knobs?
