JB WELD is a very good epoxy, better than most, but none would work to fix a
radiator leak.

By the way, you left out the most important and difficult step in soldering,
CLEANING THE SURFACE + FLUXING.  Unless you have the right acids it would be
difficult and, as you said, maybe expensive to try to do it properly
yourself, especially if the leak is not readily accessible.
