The amber side lights are repeaters for the indicators. They tend to get
full of crud, though. You can get at them from inside the wheel well. You
don't have to remove the amber cover. If you do need to try removing the
amber cover for any reason, be very careful. Your car has probably sat in
the sun a lot and the plastic will be very brittle and easy to break.

I can't remember exactly how to remove the assemply from inside and my car
is several miles away at the moment but I recall that it is a fairly
straight-forward procedure.

As for the stuff on the left of the steering wheel, I'll have to have
another look at my car again, as I can't remember the extra lamp. It may be
an extra oil pressure light?
