Tue Mar 19 15:03:30 2002 This car is a very rare and unique 1967 Lancia
Flavia Pininfarina coupe, for sale by the second owner. Bought new in
Geneva, Switzerland in 1967, and brought to LA in 1976 by the original
owner, who drove the car infrequently until 1997, when I purchased it. Since
then, I've repainted it in the original silver (two-stage acrylic enamel),
re-chromed the trim, replaced the tires (4 correct 165-HR-15 Continental
CT22s), shocks (4 Koni adjustable), replaced many suspension bushings, and
the exhaust system (factory NOS) and given it a tune-up. I've always used
original NOS parts whenever possible to maintain the originality of the car.
The Swiss plates are still available, as is the glove box manual, and
there's even still a price tag from a Swiss department store still in the
ashtray. It has the original '60's Blaupunkt AM/FM/SW radio. The dashboard
is perfect with no cracks, and slight fading of the wood trim. The interior
is 100% original; with the original rubber floor mats and factory sisal
throw mats showing very slight wear. The seats and door panels are covered
in original black leather, which is in great shape but for one tear confined
to one panel in the driver's seat; the panel could easily be replaced
without changing the original patina. All instruments are in Italian and
function perfectly and are not faded. All switches and accessories work,
including the heater and rear window heater, except for the driver's side
window regulator, which needs to be rebuilt (I recommend Daytona Motors in
Potrero or MotorPro in Berkeley). Original 1967 factory window stickers are
still in the rear window. It's quite a time capsule. This car has
participated in many shows and concours in California since 1998, and is
driven regularly on the weekends. The designer of the car, Sergio
Pininfarina, stated that this was the nicest example of this rare model he
had seen in many years when he saw it at Concorso Italiano in 1999 (I have
pics). Only 5 Flavia 1800 coupes are known to the American Lancia Club in
the US, with this one being the nicest, most original example. Only 2100
were built, with few making it to the US. This is a chance to own a
extremely rare (yet easy and inexpensive to live with) and desirable vintage
car in unmolested original condition for a very fair price. Serious buyers
should please feel free to contact me for pictures or with questions.
