I turned 390,000 miles on my '83 GTV6 today and its got the original cams (and crank)
in it! Do you know what happened to your cams to wear them?

If they really are worn, replace them and...

I had my engine opened up at 300k. It was unnecessary. All I really needed were new
heads since mine had seriously eroded, even with usin' distilled water and high quality
antifreeze since new. (My policy: All fluids flushed at least annually.)

Why bother? It'll just reduce your gas mileage and end up costin' you a fortune in
extra gas over time.
