Brian,

There is a sender on the gearbox that fails.  The cure is to replace it, but
if you look on the GTV6 site, there is a tech article about splitting one
open and repairing it.  It is under the Gearbox, Clutch and Driveshaft tech

I think from memory that the cause is just a broken solder connection.

Mine acts up sometimes as well - I will have to replace/repair it soon - I
was going to try the GTV6 fix to see if that works.
