Redline Gear Oil: NS or not ??

Hi guys,

I seem to be having little luck with picking out the right oil for my 75

gearbox.

It's a Milano Platinum edition, 4.1:1 'box with limited slip. The
gears have been lightened and the synchros, while not absolutely
new, is 3 years fresh.

When I first rebuilt it, I put in the normal Valvoline dino-oil, 80W90.

After about a year, I switched to Swepco 201 at the
recommendation of several people.  It didn't like that oil very much;
the limited slip made all sorts of noise (squeak squeak) even
though the label said it had the additive for use in limited slip
diffs.

I quickly changed back to the Valvoline and the noise went away.
But my shifting still wasn't as quick as I would like it to be.

Then in the past six months, I've put in Redline 75W90. Shifting
has improved, but the synchros still feel slow. In comparison, my
wife's tired (227,000 miles) Verde 'box shifts like butter even when
cold, with Redline 75W90 (don't know if it is NS or not).

Some folks have told me that the Redline 75W90 is too slippery for
the synchros to work, and that the 75W90NS is the way to go. But
upon looking at the label, the 75W90NS "is not recommended for
street vehicles with limited slip".

Where do I go from here? I've tried the "tried and true" formulas
and while my gearbox is no dog (pun intended), it's definitely no
greyhound until it is fully warmed up (read: 5 laps at the track !!)
