Re: 164 Clutch slipping?
A few years ago, on non-alfas, I had a car with the clutch going out. What
you describe is almost exactly what was happeneing then. Going at a steady
rate of speed, in a gear that keeps the motor's rpms at the lower end of
the engines power curve and then floor it. If the clutch is starting the
slip the rpms should rise, you should also be able to hear, and the car
will slowly increase speed until the slippage stops or you let up on the
gas. At least this has been my experience.
