Good luck.  I tried to rub out my Fiat for years -- over-revved it when cold,
ran it low on oil, used cheap gas, parked it in bad parts of town, loaned it
to girlfriends, did my own maintenance -- it refused to give up.  I finally
had to sell the damn thing to get rid of it...
