Re: computers



Been a PC guy all my life, went to an iMac two years ago, promptly sold it 3
months later.  I find that the Mac tries too hard to insulate you from the
dirty stuff that happens inside your computer.  Reminds me of the Lincoln
engine bays that are entirely covered by a plastic shield except for two
little doors for the oil and tranny dipsticks.  The reason I bought it was
to edit movies using iMovie.  iMovie turned out to be marketing fluff.  It
was useless.

As for the iMac replacement, I built my own computer.  Picked all the
kick-ass parts individually and plugged and screwed it together.  It was
easy and 18 months later, it's still smokin'.  I do my video editing using a
Pinnacle system that I just plugged in.
