       Wayne, I have had good luck using a piece of all-thread, a couple 
sockets (one as a pusher and one as a reciever) and some nuts and washers to 
make a simple but effective pusher/puller for those bushings.  But, since you 
have the bell housing off the car, a press would probably be a little more 
professional.
