re:timing belt

Do you really want to risk bent valves and/or damaged
pistons for the price of a timing belt?  When a timing
belt is installed and then used (the first time the
engine is warmed up) the belt stretches slightly.  If
you remove it and re-install it, it stretches again. 
If it stretches too much it tears the fibers in the
belt which can cause it to fail.  This effect is less
pronounced on cars with tensioners like the Alfa
hydraulic or even the new mechanical tensioner...the
bottom line is, Why take the chance?
