Re: Spider Motor Mount Replacement
Jack does raise an interesting question for me.
First, my 93 Spider has electric fans so the shroud issue should not apply!
I believe all Series 4 Spiders have electric draw-thru fans.
But why would the idle be affected by the motor being lifted to a more
correct orientation?

Rob,
Since you asked about "obvious missing steps," let
me tell you what I missed when I did this a few
years ago. Bruce described the procedure
very well, but then when you fire up the engine it is not
unlikely that the fan will be scraping the fan shroud and
the idle will be high, because the old relationship between
the engine position and the shroud /firewall no longer holds!
Good luck,
