Re: Milano vs. 164 vs. GTV6

Am glad to see that Nizam has deceided to keep his LS as he had threatened to
sell it. On the strength of his post (and others) and tha fact that I just
love driving the car, I am keeping mine and selling my 87 Milano Gold (118K.
miles, v.g. condition - email for particulars). I had many little problems
with the Milano but few major other than clutch and steering rack, both
replaced. Also 2nd and 3rd. synchros (not replaced as tranny is still so nice
!). The LS also has its own idiosyncracies but again, once the small things
like sensors and sending units have been replaced, plus belts and fluids it
should be extremely reliable over years. Main problem is that front exhaust
manifold which hangs so low (and I just banged causing both gaskets to blow
!) and sensitivity to wrong spark plugs. One has to use the NGK PGR6A plugs
which Norman and others sell for $32 each. However David at AllParts sells
them for $13 and I just got them from Monarch Plugs for $11.50 ea. They do
make a difference as the Bosch Plat 4s are junk and have given me lots of
headaches.
I still love to drive the Milano however and will miss it, but unfortunately
shoulder problems handicap me in the use of a 5-speed tranny and I find it
hard to manipulate the roof mounted window buttons. The Italian driving
position is also difficult to adjust to as one ages and is uncomfortable on
long trips, otherwise it is a fast, nice handling sports sedan which is
relatively reliable as long as all grounds are kept clean.
