plant was in Ireland were supposed to be 1) the Irish government gave him
money to put it there (financing) so create jobs and 2) they also agreed to a
sharp limitation on taxes to keep production there. With these benefits in
place, it probably made sense whether or not the workers were paid the same
as in an alternative location, since these advantages also went straight to
the bottom line. OTOH, lines seemed to be Mr. DeL's problem after all. They
used to say he saved by not installing steering because a DeLorean would
follow the white lines on the road.
