Manual Gear Box

greetings from canberra where the weather is getting colder and the tin top has been installed for the winter.

Many words have been written regarding the conversion of the auto box to a manual box.

It would seem that the manual box from the 2500 sedans, while the most logical and easily obtainable box, would be the ideal solution, does not have enough strenght to withstand the extra grunt from the V8.

Has anyone used a Rover V8 box?    if so, is there any specific model?

Do they have an overdrive or 5th gear capability.
