You are right, the true 'Minilite' wheels were made of Magnesium.  One
problem of Magnesium is that it age hardens and becomes very brittle, and I
think you will find it is now illegal to sell to the general public
(besides being very risky from a product liability point of view).

There are a few makes of wheel made of ordinary aluminium alloys which look
identical to the old Mag wheels, but I cannot tell you anything about
quality or performance.
