Rod bolts ??

I stag folks,

	I have been having a problem with Connecting rod bolts. I am
rebuilding my motor. When I went to torque down the big end bolts, as I
approached 45 foot lbs, the numbers would just drop off until I
stripped the nut off one. So I borrowed a friends torque wrench and
tested it against mine... It was fine.  So at great expense ($240.00)I
bought 2 sets of TR7 bolts. torquing them down last night one of the
heads sheered off. I have rebuilt at least ten motors in the last 20
years and never had this problem. I noticed that I can torque a good
3/8-24 cap screw to over 100 foot lbs.. Should I use these?
