RE: park lights,flashing



Hang on, the only dual filament bulbs are the stop/tail lights aren't they?
- unless of course things are different on US cars and you have the
brake/side lights flash red for a turn signal.

The most usual cause of things like this is a (or several) bad earth(s)-
usually due to Glenn's "crud" in the bulb sockets.

I had an exciting moment once with a stop/tail short - I stopped the car
with foot on brake, turned off the ignition and the engine kept running! The
stop light was providing a circuit to the ignition via the sidelights...

	If the parking lights flash dimly with the turn signals, one of the
dual
element bulbs has shorted between the filaments in the bulb.

This occurs when the filament sags or breaks and falls on the other
filament,
allowing th circuit to complete through the other filament.  Could also be a
crudded up socket connection across the two connections.
