shock/ springs bushes

I'm thinking of changing my rear end and front end bushes on the Stag. 
The shocks have been changed by the PO. Should I change the springs
assuming that they look ok?  Does the springiness really drop after
almost 30yrs. and 55k miles later.
No one's replied to my center console question.  I'm really stuck.
