I think you are referring to my suggestion many months ago when I
replied to someone else with this problem.

The same happened to my Stag, exactly the same symptoms.

It turned out to be a bad fuse, the connection inside the fuse between
the fuse wire and the end cap was bad. Additionally the end cap was
corroded and not making good contact with the fuse holder.

I fitted a new fuse and the problem went away.
