electrical and air conditioning questions

Thanks for the answers to my last questions.  Here's some new ones:

1.  I don't have a battery in my car, so I want to make sure I get the correct
one.  Which side is the positive terminal on - toward the fender or toward the
engine (L or R if you're facing the battery as you would be if you were
installing it)?  Also, where does the negative cable attach to the frame?  I
don't have a negative cable either.

2.  Where is the receiver/dryer supposed to mount?  Mine is mounted where the
radiator overflow bottle is supposd to be.
