Hello

I have been lurking on this list a while, mainly because I have recently
purchased a Stag. Needless to say, I love it!!!

Like any car its age, it was not perfect, but my wife and I had sufficient
confidence to take it on a national Classic Car Rally held in Nelson, which
involves a 650km trip and a ferry crossing from where we live just to get
there. We did not expect a perfect run, given that we had only owned the car
for 8 days before we set out, but with 13 other Stags in attendance, we
weren't lacking for expertise, should any assistance be required...

In the event we did have problems with a rear wheel bearing, but
fortunately, one of the other Stag owners had the foresight to pack a
complete refurbished half-shaft.

The weather was perfect - ideal for top down motoring and the rally tours
were very interesting and enjoyable. In all we did 2600 km of mostly
worry-free motoring - the other worry was Police Speed cameras...

I have always wanted a Stag from when they first showed but I was obviously
too young, and later too limited in funds to buy one. When I saw this one
for sale, my wife was very hesitant, but with the help of two young boys,
she was soon convinced - and she has no regrets now... The car has already
proven to be ideal for family outings.

So now my 2500S has a Triumph stablemate - they make a good pair...
