Hello Richard,
	You now know the Trim #63 is Chestnut Brown.  As to the other numbers, they are
as follows:

There should be an unpainted metal tag begining with a "T" and a painted one
next to it ending in an "Lx"  Then on the left hand door jamb is another plate
from which you got your  "Trim" "Paint" and Commission Numbers.

From what I was told, the two metal plates under the hood (bonnet) next to the
hinge are body sequence identification numbers attached at one of the chassis
plants.  The painted one represents the body sequence when the car began its
life on the body assembly lines at either Speke or Canley, the unpainted one
represents the sequence it arrived for build at Coventry.  These two together
are recorded as the "Body Number" on the BMIHT Production Certificate.  I have
no idea how these numbers were arrived at, but from the factory pictures I've
seen, the car bodies came in and were loaded onto roller conveyors many cars
wide and intermixed with other Triumph models, and were pulled onto the assembly
line  sort of on a "grab that one it's the right color and trim", basis.  The
unpainted tag should refer back to an "indent" number refering to an actual
production record showing the original order source.  John Macartney would be
the best person to confirm this, as this was once one of his jobs.

On your car, are both of the tags painted?  If so, your car has been resprayed
at some time in the past, and the "blank" one most likely has the numbers
completely filled in with paint, and there are numbers on that plate under the
paint.  This is because the one without the "T" was put onto the body when the
body was assembled and painted over at the factory.  It only takes two coats of
paint and primer to fill in the numbers.  Take a closer look and you might see a
faint outline of numbers if the light is reflected across the plate at just the
right angle.
