New List Member

Hi Francis

Welcome to the world of Stags. I have attached a file from our monthly
newsletter, detailing the cars for sale at present within our club, I hope
these are of some use to you. There will be a new listing next week.

You are right to query the 'engine' issue. You are about to receive a
torrent of e-mails and find out that there are two distinct camps, one
saying the Stag engine is a lovely motor if built correctly and maintained
properly, and is the only engine matched nicely to the car. The other camp
will say they don't care what is under the bonnet they just want complete
reliability, more power and cheap parts. Frankly I don't believe either is
completely right, but I have noticed people say 'when I can afford to
rebuild it, I'll put the Stag motor back in'. In the USA at least, because
of this divide both types of car are equally priced - cheap!

In my view, if you have a good rust-free body which hasn't been 'got at' by
road salt, then you have the working basis for an excellent car, whether
you use the genuine Stag V8 motor or not. If you are discontent with the
engine fitted after a while, I am sure you will find a way of swapping it
out.

I was in Ontario and Detroit a couple of weeks ago during the bad weather,
I hope you were at home then!

Enjoy your Stagging.
