Glen,

I can't comment about the auto fluid as I have a manual.

The soft top leaks sound like either the header rail seal on the frame
needs replacing or the stainless capping on top of the windscreen needs
some sealant underneath it.

I have fitted a Harry Moss alarm with microwave sensor and built in
immobiliser. It is the voltage drop sensing type which detects the
interior light coming on or the ignition being switched on. However if
you still have the clock fitted it will trigger the alarm every time it
`clicks' (about every 30secs). I have fitted a couple of large
capacitors and a series resistor to the clock supply so that the alarm
won't trigger. I have also fitted a home made immobiliser which isolates
the ignition, starter and fuel pump. However some insurance schemes will
only accept cars with a certain make of immobiliser fitted.

On the back of the lock barrel is an arm which connects to the door
catch mechanism. It sounds like this has come off.

Hope the above is some help,

Dave.
