Finally, it is here
After two weeks of trying to take delivery of my stag parts car, it is
finally nestled in my garage. Just a hulking shell of its former self.
This is what I know, car was titled in 1976 and a loan was placed on the
car by North Carolina National Bank, (now Nationsbank). The windshield
has a 1989 inspection sticker, but the title is open and has been for a
while. There are no front seats, and the majority of the dash wood is a
total write off. The dash is in decent shape, with only one major
crack. (it could be reskinned) There have been some parts taken from
the car, but for the most part it is all still there, minus the motor
and drivetrain that is. Car was hit in rear, and rear bumper and right
rear quarter are beyond repair. The rear lid could be repaired, as it
is bent but not creased. There were two jacks in the trunk, did not see
any markings on either to suggest wheterh or not they are original, any
things I should look for on the jacks? There was a radiator in the
trunk, but it is not original British Leyland. The front end is in good
shape, with grille, headlights, and almost all of the trim intact. I
was sorry to see that the grille badge is missing.......... The car
is inside now, so the rate of decay should be at least slowed....the
hard top is on the car, and appears to be straight. Impossible to tell
at this stage if there is bondo in it or not, however. There are some
chrome pieces missing from the top. The rear seats are intact, the
original interior color was light brown. There is a soft top frame in
the car, no idea on condition, (I need some if not all of these parts)
As the body panels were welded in place, it is possible to use body
panels as transplants?
