Pre purchase inspection

Welcome to the world of Stags, I hope you have a long and enjoyable
association with them, and us.

Automobile Buyers Services is a UK national organisation which has
self-employed engineers throughout the country, and whose full time job it
is to look at cars closely, pre-purchase.  They can be found in Yellow
pages under "Vehicle Inspection", if there is any difficulty phone their
head office on 0345 419926 for a local contact.

They are all conversant with the Stag and we (the TSR) have supplied
information to them.  These engineers also carry professional indemnity
insurance, so in the event of their making a crucial mistake, you have a
come-back.  The engineers have their individual pricing structures, but you
might expect to pay around �150 for one of their inspections.

Interestingly, three of our members now have taken the time to relate to us
experiences of Stag sellers telling them to take a running jump when told
an engineer would be calling to make an inspection.  Money saved, mistake
avoided!

This club also has a publication called "The Stag Buyers Guide" which is 20
A4 pages long, and investigates nearly all aspects of the Stag including
checklists for static and driving tests, specifications, modifications,
avoiding a crooked car, etc.  This publication is free to new members.
