Stag Convertible and Coupe - produced 1970 to1977
Engine: 8-cyl, 86 x 64.smm, 2997cc, CR 8.8:1, 2 Zenith-Stromberg carbs, 145bhp (DIN) at 5500rpm. Maximum torque 170 lb/ft at
3500rpm.
Transmission: Axle ratio 3.7:1. Overall gear ratios 3.7, (optional overdrive, 3.03 - standard from October 1972; 2.95:1 from
beginning of 1973), 5.13, 7.77, .11.08, reverse 12.46:1. Optional Borg-Warner automatic, overall ratios 3.7, 5.36, 8.84, reverse
7.73:1.
19.0 mph /1000rpm in direct top and automatic, 23.1 mph (later 23.7mph)/1000rpm in overdrive.
Suspension and brakes: Ifs, coil-springs, MacPherson struts, anti-roll bar; irs, coil-springs, semi-trailing wishbones, telescopic
dampers. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. Servo-assisted 10.6in front disc brakes, 9 x 2,25 in rear drums. 185-14in tyres on
5.5in rims.
Dimensions: Wheelbase 8ft 4in; front track 4ft 4.5 in, rear track 4ft 4.9in.
Length 14ft 5.8in. Width 5h 3.5 in. Height 4ft 1.5 in. Unladen weight 2807 lb.
Basic price: Convertible, �1527, rising to �5904 by autumn 1977.
Coupe, �1562, rising to �6180 by autumn 1977.
Stag - USA versions
This differs from other Stags as follows:
1972 model: 127bhp at 6000rpm. Maximum torque 142 lb/ft at 3200rpm. CR 8.0:1.
1973 model: 127bhp at 5500rpm. Maximum torque 148 lb/ft at 3500rpm. CR 7.75:1.
The Stag was withdrawn from the United States market at the end of 1973.
