Windshield leak, vapor lock
Ralph:
Glad to hear that the Stag's on the road! I can relate intimately
to two of the problems you mentioned:
1) The water leak: I discovered exactly th same leak around
the windshield in our Stag during our Pennsylvania trip. I
have yet to figure out how the water is getting in, but it seems
to be dripping down from the inside of the windshield, passing
behind the dash (where all the electrics are!) and onto my feet.
I found that putting a rolled-up paper towel at the bottom of the
window soaked up the water before it got to my feet, but I had
to swap out the towel regularly or the leak continued. I haven't
found the source yet. I sealed up the obvious places with
silicon and it hasn't helped.
2) The vapor lock: This sounds like the problem I had with Susan's
Stag before I started using the lead additive. It started okay when
cold, but I had to keep my foot to the floor when it was hot to get
it to catch. Get a contained of the CD2 additive and try a tank or
two of gas with it added and see if it helps. I can't explain it, but
it sure worked on our car!
Good luck!
